Chris Webber

Mayce Edward Christopher Webber III (born March 1, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan), better known as Chris Webber and nicknamed C-Webb, is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 5-time NBA All-Star, a former All-NBA First Teamer, a former NBA rebounding champion, a former NBA Rookie of the Year, and a former #1 overall NBA Draftee. As a collegian, he is a former NCAA Men's Basketball first team All-American and he is well remembered for his leadership of the University of Michigan Wolverines' 1991 incoming freshman class known as the Fab Five that reached the 1992 & 1993 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship games as Freshmen and Sophomores.

  • Webber Shares Holiday Spirit Through Donations And Event

    SACRAMENTO. Calif., December 18, 2004--Sacramento Kings forward Chris Webber reached thousands of in need youth and their families this holiday season through The Chris Webber Foundation, local community based organizations and hundreds of volunteers. These holiday activities were funded by Webber, The Chris Webber Foundation and individual contributions from the public.
    During November and December, The Chris Webber Foundation partnered with Folsom Cub Scout Pack 94 to order, receive, sort, package and distribute over 25 pallets of toys, crafts, clothes, books and toiletries. Organizations receiving donations include the Hmong Heritage Organization, Kidiopolis, Boys & Girls Club of Sacramento.

  • Webbers Suprise Holiday Party For Sacramento Youth

    WHO: Sacramento Kings player Chris Webber, The Chris Webber Foundation, TLC Soup Kitchen, 200 youth ages 3-17 years old and community volunteers


    WHAT: Sacramento Kings player Chris Webber, The Chris Webber Foundation and TLC Soup Kitchen will be hosting a surprise holiday party for 200 at-risk youth. The Chris Webber Kringle Holiday Party will provide an afternoon of holiday fun including craft activities, music, gingerbread houses, giant snowmen and face painters. Each child will also open presents under the tree containing toys, clothes and gift certificates.
    This is the 3rd year The Chris Webber Foundation and TLC Soup Kitchen have hosted a holiday event.


    This year's event is also supported by the Grant Police Department and Sacramento Public Library who will have volunteers on site. Youth were selected from community based organizations in the South Sacramento, West Sacramento and Del Paso Heights communities. The youth attending do not know about the party's specifics or Webber's attendance. We ask for the media not to publicize this event prior to Monday at 2 PM so that we may ensure it remains a surprise. Event is closed to the public. Media only.
