Snoop Dogg Surprises New Orleans Students
May, 2009Snoop Dogg made an appearance at Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary school yesterday (May 7), where he offered the young students positive encouragement and words of advice. The rapper appeared at the school with Rev. Toris Young and the Louisiana Ministerial Alliance of Churches For All People. Young is currently coordinating a program in New Orleans to keep young people off the street and to encourage positive behavior. Snoop was in town for a concert last night, but prior to hitting the stage, he visited two local schools, with Kurupt and Soopafly. Snoop explained his troubled past to students and offered solutions to overcome negative situations in the future. He also spoke at Frederick Douglass High School. Rev. Young himself was the subject of headlines last month, when his criminal background was called into question in regards to C-Murder’s trial, which jeopardized the rapper’s house arrest status.
