Fox’s “Baby Mama” Drama

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Dear Michael,

Right now, Fox News is trying to paint Barack Obama as foreign, un-American, suspicious, and scary. They’re trying to send Americans the message that our country’s first viable Black candidate for President is not “one of us.” We’ve seen this before from Fox. They won’t stop until it becomes too painful to continue–until the public calls them out and advertisers start getting worried. Now is the time to draw a line in the sand by (more…)

Are You In Love With A Stripper?

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

From the title I know you assumed this was a lead way into T-Pain’s hip-hop anthem…but no, that’s not what this is at all.

This article poses the question of what in your life is stripping you of your full potential. Is it your parents, constantly pressuring you to live out their dreams? Or maybe it’s your significant other, constantly complaining that you’re putting everything and everyone before them…all the while not considering that you may be working for the betterment of the both of you. What about your children, now adults, yet still making mistakes and expecting you to bail them out? Or my all time favorite…YOU… are you the culprit constantly allowing yourself to be miserable and to remain in the same place…bitching and moaning about it, yet making no positive effort to change it.

I believe anyone can be motivated towards greatness… that would explain why motivational speakers are so sought after…they tap into something internally within the minds of others and spark something that’s been dormant for years…they provide hope. I challenge you to be your own motivational speaker and then pay it forward.

If there is something in your life applying pressure and/or weight…that person, place or thing is stripping you of your happiness. My question to you is…are you in love with that stripper? It’s an honest question, because so many of us play victim that we remain in that situation because it provides us with a story to tell…Well, that story is old.

Unshackle yourself…uplift yourself and hold yourself to a higher standard than what you have become so accustomed. Stop being complacent and unmoved…MOVE SOMETHING…SOMEONE…INSPIRE ANOTHER PERSON BY BEING FREE OF THOSE THINGS THAT STRIP YOU OF WHO YOU WERE DESTINED TO BE…

That old saying–”You have to stand for something…or you’ll fall for anything”–should be plastered internally within your mental billboard, and as your mind travels it should reduce the speed every time it’s fast approaching that board. The point I’m making is: If you’re standing…you can’t ever be stripped…

and that’s the beginning of TRUE LOVE.
