Attention Atlanta & Nearby Residents!!!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

As reported on Dateline and The AJC on (7/19/2010). Starting Aug 1, 2010 Georgia will launch a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be genreated in speeding tickets. 1 Million will go to pay state troopers overtime. The rest to help with dwindiling budgets. There will be 50 stste troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 7 main intersections and highways. They are the following: I-20 East & West, I-75 North & South, I-85 North & South, I-675 North & South, GA-985 North & South, GA-316 East & West, and GA-400 North & South. 5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is SUPPOSED to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes. They have issued 30 new unmarked Dodge Charger Police cruisers and are bringing in all of their part timers on full time. If you work in the Atlanta area, you will probably take one of these highways. It’s up to YOU how fast you are going when they clock you. WSB, WXIA and CBS have all confirmed this story!

Idle Hands Will Only Make This Tragedy Worse by Wyclef Jean

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The following is a statement that was sent to GlobalGrind from Wyclef Jean in the wake of the horrible 7.0 hurricane that struck Haiti this evening:

——-

Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced.

The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.

I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.

President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”

Many people have already reached out to see what they can do right now. We are asking those interested to please do one of two things: Either you can use your cell phone to text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit www.Yele.org and click on DONATE.
